The evening of White Collar Boxing we held on Saturday exceeded all expectations and was a great success and the TKO Team competing certainly did us and themselves very proud.
A lot of work had gone into the matchmaking to ensure each bout was fair and competitive and that was certainly proved to be the case on the night as all 10 fights were full of action and results produced wins for all the competing gyms which was nice to see.
Shane McInery from TKO Ashford defeated Steve Collins from TKO Maidstone in a meeting of friends who have trained together on numerous occasions which proved that you can put aside friendship to compete and give it your all, this was great fight.
Aidan Fitzy from TKO Maidstone and Dermot McKeating from TKO Medway had a real ding dong battle and whoever lost this one would have been disappointed but it was Aidan who took this one this time by the narrowest of margins.
Francis Stickings from TKO Maidstone was always a little too sharp and accurate for Nick Mason from Dragon Boxing and he took a clear points decision.
In the bout that had the best technical boxing on display Ross Terry (TKO Maidstone) took a good win over Ryan Galor from Southend, a nice win considering Ryan had come in over the agreed weight.
It was not all good news on the results side as Charlie Bennett, Glenn Wilson, Gary Capon and Ross Chell had to settle for a loss this time round but all gave it their and return fights are being discussed for some of them already. There was some consolation for Ross who along with opponent Andy Clegg took the trophies on the night for being in the fight of the night.
Thanks go to all those who came along and supported the event and of course to our friends at Dragon Boxing and Modka who came to support with fighters.
Our first exclusively White Collar Boxing event was a great success, watch out for news of future events and of course for the next KOMBAT ZONE which will once again feature WC Boxing on it.
