Great day had by all at the Battle of Kent

Well done to all TKO Members who came along to the latest Battle of Kent event yesterday, both to compete and to support their club mates. It was another very successful day, 72 fights all completed by 3pm and most importantly not one bout was stopped due to injury so excellent control was shown by all.

Our event sponsors were kind enough to sponsor 3 special

awards for the Junior, Female and Male fighters of the day and TKO’s Harry Hennon took the award in the junior sections, sharing it with his opponent in his second fight of the day Jack Purdy from MB Academy in Ipswich. Their contest was declared a draw by the judges and they produced what was probably the best Kickboxing display of the day with an excellent contest and therefore were worthy winners of the award.

This event also staged our first SUPER 8 tournament, this time being set at Men’s under 75 kilos and at the end of the day after 3 fights the winner was TKO Ashford’s Domonic Paine who took a 2 rounds to 1 decision over his fellow Ashford team mate Nathan Edwards. The 8 man event was a successful addition to the Battle of Kent format and will be repeated at the next one, the category to be announced soon.

Thanks go to all those helped out on the day, it was much appreciated and to all the other clubs who once again gave us great support.  The next Battle of Kent event, the 12th in the series will be held on Sunday 16th October, we will see you there
