Our busy Sunday could not have gone better with both the Battle of Kent a resounding success, followed by 2 good wins at the big Bulldog Gym show in Dorset.
Lordswood Leisure Centre was packed to capacity for the first Battle of Kent of the year and we had over 90 fights taking place, our highest number of fights for the last couple of years so it’s nice to know the event is as popular as ever with clubs attending from all over the South of England. With no serious injury all day it showed the excellent control showed by all the competitors, in fact a medic only came to a ring once all day and that was for nothing serious at all, so well done to everyone. Our own TKO Fighters came away with a win ratio of over 75% so a good day for us and well done to all those who were competing for the very first time.
Once the event was finished it was straight into our cars and off to Wimbourne in Dorset for the latest event promoted by Carl Sams and the Bulldog Gym where we had Patric Halforty and Ross Terry competing. Ross got us off to good start in an entertaining White Collar Boxing bout scoring a points win over hometown fighter Lee Stubbs and then Patric went to 4-0 in Kickboxing with a split decision win over previously unbeaten Paul Williams. Both lads gave great performances and so make sure you congratualte them when you see them. Ross now boxes next on our big night of White Collar Boxing on 21st Apil whilst Patric has been added to the big KUMITE event in Norwich on 31st March, so no rest for them!
So..a VERY Busy Sunday, but a VERY Successful Sunday. Well done to everyone.
