Before we have the next big KOMBAT ZONE promotion on 9th September the TKO team first has a trip to Ireland lined up when 3 of our fighters will be competing on 4th August at the first promotion put on by Westside Kickboxing in Athlone.
Our line up is firstly Harry Hennon who takes on on Ian Moore. This is a rematch from May when Harry won on points, however the Irish have asked for the return under their preferred International Low kick rules, a challenge Harry was more than happy to take up in this his first fight under this format.
Bradley Fothergill takes on the super aggressive fighter Andrew Grogan and will need to be at his best if he is to continue his winning form but he’s training hard and will be more than ready come fight night.
Lastly, another rematch as Kay Sumner takes on Yvonne McNevin in a fight that has since being first made been upgraded to a 5 rounder for the IKF 5 Nations title at stake so a great opportunity for Kay that she was never going to turn down.
All 3 have been in hard training for this trip for the past 4 weeks and with still just over 3 weeks left they are sure to be in the best shape of their career so far. Be sure to wish them all the best of luck when you see them…which will have to be at the Academy as they are almost living in the gym at the moment!
Thanks go to Aaron McGrath at Westside Kickboxing and our good friend Peter Foley from the International Kickboxing Federation (Ireland) for this opportunity
