KOMBAT ZONE -Relentless – A Big Success

Our latest KOMBAT ZONE was another great success and particularly for our TKO team scoring 8 wins out of 11

Patric Halforty made a successful first defence of his IKF British Cruiserweight title and it was his best performance so far. Craig Black came from Scotland to give it but Patric fought masterfully and forced a stoppage at the end of the 4th round. Just a great performance, mixed it up well and beat a very tough opponent.

We have another TKO Champion!! Harry Hennon won the 5 nations title. His opponent had to withdraw in the second, but it was generally thought that Harry was already getting the measure and was on his way to winning, but inconclusive ending so might have to do this one again. But Harry was on form, hitting crisp and hard, no messing about.

Kelly Copeland made a second defence of her British lightweight title in a tough fight with Nicole Commerford. I thought Kelly was always that little bit more on target but it was never easy but she showed her typical grit to guts it out and take the win

Second new TKO Champion was Chayden Carpenter who was in an absolute war with Tommy Purdy but came through it to take the IKF English junior title

Tommy’s brother Jack just beat Jenson Rowley in the other junior title fight we had. It was Jenson’s birthday, would have been great to get the win on the day but just not to be, losing a very close one. Jenson’s performance was very very good, we are really proud of him.

Jack Poole had his first fight and won in a nice performance. Showed skill beyond his experience and kept it very simple and controlled.

Ross Terry was our one boxer there and he took a very clear win against a tough Andrew Davies from Wales who tried all long to land his big hooks but Ross boxed really well and was never in danger

Rachel Goater came up close second in a fight with Mairead Cullen, great effort in a tough fight

Steve Collins made a long awaited ring debut and came away with a win in a nice fight with Ross Hunt from CMA. Both showed great skill considering it was their first fight.

Bradley Fothergill took the fighter of the night award from the officials for his win over Tom Curley. Typical Bradley performance, makes fighting look like something he finds just so easy to do, but he beat a very good opponent here in Tom Curley and is now undefeated in 5 fights

Got to single one out straight away and that’s Kamil Mazur. My god that boy has heart!!!! Tough opponent, lost a close decision, but never gave up and I’m just so proud of him. He WILL come back, and he will be a much better fighter for this. He was, with all due respect to the rest of the team, our TKO performance of the night.

Thanks go to all TKO members who came along and made plenty of noise on the night
