Chayden takes the glory in Scotland

The TKO team were once again on the road at the weekend this time driving all the way to Scotland for the WKA International Open.

Chayden Carpenter took the glory with first place in the under 35 kilos category.  Beating two very good fighters from the NEKA gym he was dubbed the ‘Baby Faced Assassin’ by their coach Wes Fagan, a very apt nickname for Chayden who was relentless in his approach, never giving his opponents  a chance to take the upper hand in their contests.

Harry Hennon, Jack Poole and Jay Huntley were closely beaten in the finals of their categories, all giving great performances and although yes we would all rather win it should be said our team does not sit at home in our comfort zone, they are always eager to hit the road to test themselves. Over the past few years alone we have been in Scotland, Ireland, USA, France as well as all over the UK, that’s not something that will stop as we continue to fly the flag for Kent Kickboxing wherever we go.

Tyler Oxford was unable to fight, a big let down but once again he showed great maturity and character by accepting it and just got on with supporting his team mates.

I am as always very proud of my team and would like to thank them all for another great weekend. Thanks also go to the parents who travelled all the way with us, it’s much appreciated.

All back to work from tonight as we get ready for KOMBAT ZONE on Sept 8th
