KOMBAT ZONE – Triple Impact, a great night capped by Kelly taking another title

Another great KOMBAT ZONE event was capped by TKO Academy Instructor Kelly Copeland adding the IKF 5 Nations title to her long list of achievements. Already the IKF British Champion, the WKA Commonwealth Champion and a previous winner of the IKF World classic Kelly took her latest title with a clear points decision win over Ireland’s Leona Trout.

Leona pushed her hard and each round was competitive but Kelly kept her composure throughout and met the aggressive charges of Leona with sharp accurate counters, before taking over completely in the second half of the fight. Leona gave Kelly a very stern test but this was probably her best performance so far and she won well with the judges being unanimous in their decision.

Kay Sumner kept her IKF English title with a draw against Annabelle Shoub in a tough contest. Kay had to take a count in the first round and came back well to force her way back into the fight leaving the judges unable to split them at the end.  A rematch will be offered to the other camp for November

Harry Hennon was just narrowly beaten by Welsh fighter Kieran Jones in the closest of fights. Jones definitely started the better taking the early part of the fight before Harry forced his way back in, however it was just a little too late this time.

Wins were scored by Jenson Rowley and Jay Huntley further underlining their reputation as two of the best junior fighters around, Bradley Wray took a great win over William McManus and Boxer Danny Brown took a win in his first fight. Ceilidh Brown then took a fantastic win in her second fight, boxing brilliantly to beat a very tough Louise Stevens from Spitfire Maidstone, a great win

Steve Lagdon and Joe Lewis were unlucky in their White Collar Boxing bouts but no doubt will come again.

Richard Atkins from the Maidstone Boxing class stepped in at just 24 hours notice to help out and despite not being anywhere near 100% fit lost by the very closest of decisions.

A great night, with fantastic atmosphere, thanks go to all TKO members who came along and supported our team so well.

Our next events include Battle of Kent on 13th October, a seminar with Kickboxing legend Bill ‘Superfoot’ Wallace on 22nd Oct and of course the next KOMBAT ZOBNE set for November 24th, as always look out for details on our TKO ACADEMY Facebook Page:
