Apologies for the lack of news reports for the past couple of weeks, it’s been a VERY busy time! So, here is what’s been going on:
On the last weekend in September the team attended the Ringmasters event in Sittingbourne and came away with the best results achieved by any Kent based club, with our 8 strong team taking 3 first places, 3 second places and 2 losing semi-finalists, an outstanding result. Our 3 ringmasters champions are Jensen Rowley (who won last year as well) in Boys under 45 kilos, Kay Sumner women’s under 60 kilos and Chayden Carpenter Boys under 35 kilos. The rest of the team was comprised of Bradley Fothergill (2nd Men’s under 65 kilos), Jay Huntley (2nd Boys under 45 kilos), Taylor Pearson (2nd Boys under 55 kilos), Tommy Killick (3rd Boys under 45 kilos) and Jack Poole (3rd place Boys under 70 kilos)
A week later we were off to Aylesbury for the STORM event promoted by Steve Cook. This time we took a new and relatively inexperienced team and came away with 2 wins, 2 close losses and a no contest. The 5 in the team did extremely well and look to be a good bet to be added to the main TKO team very soon. They were Frankie Killick, Tommy Killick, Taylor Pearson, Jeevan Rakar and Aidan Thompson.
And finally last week we held the 18th Battle of Kent event at Lordswood attended by clubs from all over the south of England. This was a great day and the large TKO entry of over 30 fighters did us proud, especially those competing for the very first time. Thanks go to all the clubs who supported us so well, it’s much appreciated.
More details and pictures are to be found on our TKO Academy FACEBOOK Page. The picture shown is of the TKO support team who came along and helped on the day, our thanks go to all of them
