Another successful away trip

The TKO Elite team had another very successful trip away at the weekend, this time driving all the way to Scotland to participate in the WKA Scottish Open.

Tyler Oxford in his final bout before he challenges for the IKF European Junior title in September was in no mood to take any chances and went straight to work hitting home with strong roundhouse kicks to the body of his brave opponent Aaron Stafford from Ireland. With seconds remaining of the opening round Stafford was rescued by his corner not wishing him to take further punishment.

Chayden ’the Baby Faced Assassin’ Carpenter had two bouts to get through but like Tyler was in no mood to hang around in his first fight, stopping his opponent in the first round with a great straight hand punch to the body stopping the fight.  Then an hour later he was back in the ring and although he then had to go the distance his win was never in doubt as he was relentless in putting the pressure on his opponent.  This is the second year in a row Chayden has won the Scottish Open and he looks in very good form as he prepares for the World Championships in Italy in October

Jay Huntley was just getting the measure of his opponent, scoring with nice straight punches when an accidental clash of his knee and his opponents head stopped the fight and unfortunately for us was ruled a no decision. However most importantly Jay was in very good form and like Chayden and Tyler will be looking to impress in Italy.

Big thanks to our friends at WKA Scotland and of course all the parents who came along to support us, it’s very much appreciated.
