Congratulations to all students who passed their grading on Sunday and in particular Martina Jones and Kelly Copeland who were successful in obtaining their 3rd Dan Black Belts. Just reward for two people who work very hard in all they do and who continue to develop themselves as Martial Artists in every way. They set the very highest standards and are great role models for all our members.
Martina has been in charge of our junior classes for several years now and the great work she has done has laid the best foundations possible for where we are now. Some of the best fighters we have the privilege of coaching now such as Tyler Oxford and Chayden Carpenter, both international champions started in Martina’s classes. She has also developed our very successful pre school class the TKO TOTS which is now full to capacity and has been for some time.
Kelly alongside her work as an instructor has complied a very successful ring career. This has seen her win the IKF classic in Florida and becoming both the IKF 5 nations champion and WKA commonwealth champion with just one controversial loss on her record. She has now commenced work as an IKF Judge and provisional referee, both tasks that she has undertaken with the same enthusiasm and endeavour that she applied so successfully in her fight career.
I am sure all members will want to congratulate them on their outstanding achievement and hopefully all members will be there at the TKO Elite Presentation night on 5th December where they will be presented with their certificates.
