Chayden wins the fight of the year

The much anticipated K1 super fight between Chayden Carpenter and Alex Hook finally took place on Saturday at the prestigious Kings of Combat event and as anyone that was there will tell you it more than lived up to the hype.  A 5 round slugfest with an incredibly high skill level from the first round to the last.

Pleased to say that Chayden took a unanimous points decision and with it both the ICO British Junior title at 64.5 kilos plus clear recognition that he is without a doubt the number one fighter in his division in the country.

The fight was action packed from the first bell, the power clearly coming from Chayden as he took the fight to Alex from the off. Alex for his part was always in the fight and was scoring nicely on the retreat, particularly targeting the lead leg of Chayden. However  he was not to be denied and although the 4th round seem to go the way of Alex, most judges scored the remaining 4 rounds to Chayden and at the end of a fight that was called by one leading trainer as the ‘best Cadet fight I’ve seen’ the belt was wrapped around the waist of Chayden.

A great fight on one of the best shows I’ve ever been to, so a great weekend all round. Details of Chayden’s next fight will be announced soon and just need to thank Promoter Mick Crossland for inviting us to take part on such a great event.
